An introduction to basic silver-gelatin emulsions coated on glass, and a great insight into the science that goes into making Black and White film today. The workshop will cover the basics of emulsion engineering and participants will make an approximately ISO 8 Chloro-Bromide emulsion from scratch on the day. 4X5” glass plates will be coated, dried, shot in camera and processed, leaving you with a selection of glass plate negatives at the end of the day. All camera equipment and lighting provided, as well as detailed technical handouts.
Price includes all equipment and materials, as well as tea, coffee, biscuits and a hearty lunch.
